Pete Nielsen Named 1st Team All-Met

June 2016

Senior SS Pete Nielsen was named 1st Team All-Met by the Washington Post.  A four-year varsity player with strong fielding skills, Nielsen batted .363 with 20 RBI and went 4-1 as a pitcher for the Warhawks.  He will join his older brother Michael and cousins Nate and Matt Favero at BYU.

The Washington Post All-Met Teams are among the most prestigious high school athletic awards, with selections taken from over 300 schools in the metropolitan area.

Warhawks Alum Tim Davis Named to Big East Honor Roll

May 9, 2016

“On Monday, Tim Davis (Vienna, Va./James Madison HS) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in his career. Davis made three appearances last week, finishing 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched. After going 0.2 innings with a strikeout on Saturday, Davis earned the win on Sunday with 1.2 scoreless frames and two strikeouts.”

Six Warhawks Named to All-Region Team

May 25, 2016

The Madison Warhawks had six players selected by 6A North Region coaches to the All-Region Team.  Receiving First Team honors were senior Jimmy Goldsmith 1B, senior Pete Neilson Utility, and senior Carlo Alfano OF.  Senior LHP Matt Favero, senior OF Jordan Ebersole and sophomore 2B Kyle Novak were named Second Team All-Region.  Senior catcher Kyle Hayes and junior 3B Joey Goldsmith received Honorable Mention.
